There will be an exercise session every week on Friday, 9.15 - 10h. The exercises form an indispensable pillar of the course; part of the general theory will be treated in exercises.
Exercise sessions start in the second week of the semester.
A series of exercises will be available every weekend on this page. These will be discussed during the following exercise session, solutions can be handed in on the following Monday, and the corrected solutions will be given back on the following Friday.

This course is an introduction to the theory of Lie algebras and their representations. The central topic are semisimple Lie algebras over an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0, and the goal is the classification of simple such Lie algebras by their root systems.
