The course is intended to provide a legal analysis of tariffs, quotas and voluntary export restraints and to study the specific rules applicable to these mechanisms in the context of the WTO system. The application of these trade instruments is then discussed and reviewed.

Jaime De Melo
The segment is intended to provide the economic analysis of tariffs, quotas, voluntary export restraints, technical barriers to trade and other Non-tariff measures which serves as a foundation for the WTO rules and exceptions in the application of these measures. Emphasis is on detecting the effects and drawing the relevant welfare implications.
