Deep Learning on VIBE

This course offers an introduction to using deep learning based software on the Virtual Imaging in Bern (VIBE) platform. Most of the software and data used are from microscopy, but the course can be of interest also for scientist handling imaging data from other contexts. The course addresses the following points:

  • Introduction to Deep Learning for microscopy
  • Introduction to the VIBE platform
  • Demos of Deep Learning based softare on VIBE

Course Objectives

  • Acquire knowledge on how to best use Deep Learning approaches
  • Become familiar with VIBE

Target group

  • All UniBE members, but in particular PhD students and postodcs who need to develop bioimage analysis pipelines

Prerequisites

  • Participants must bring their own laptops

Methods

The course will alternate between presentation of topics and practical exercises.

  • A certificate will be delivered to participants who have attended the whole training.

  • Ruben Lopez is a research software engineer at the MIC of the University of Bern, specialised in bioimage analysis and application specialist for VIBE
  • Guillaume Witz is a research software engineer at the DSL of the University of Bern, specialised in bioimage analysis.
