About this training
Containers

Linux containers are self-contained execution environments -- with their own, isolated CPU, memory, block I/O, and network resources -- that share the kernel of the host operating system. Using containers means that you can run your own laptop research environment on other systems. The central university linux HPC cluster UBELIX now provides the Singularity container environment. If couldn't use UBELIX before, now you can !

Learning outcomes - participants can
  • Install container software on own computer
  • Create containers for own application
  • Run own applications in a container on HPC and cloud systems
