SCENARIO

Provide self-assessments

SITUATION

  • Students should have the opportunity to independently check whether they have understood the contents and which ones they have to develop further
  • Students should be enabled to prepare systematically for an upcoming class or an exam

IMPLEMENTATION

  • A test is created
  • Questions are created that cover as much of the material to be learned as possible
  • In the questions, "contents for repetition" are indicated, e.g., as file download; in the settings, it is defined that these are displayed to the students
  • Students take the test on their own; the same questions are displayed to all students, ensuring that they all focus on the same topics
  • Once they have completed the test, students can view their test results and the suggested "content to review"
  • The lecturer(s) can see who took the test and the result

Try it yourself

Within a question, "content for repetition" is defined, e.g. in the form of a PDF
In the settings it is defined that the students are shown the "contents for repetition" after finishing the test
Student perspective after completion of the test: The relevant content can be accessed via the link under "Assigned content for review"

Example from the Faculty of Medicine

  • A test and a question pool for the test are created
  • Questions are created in the question pool; immediate feedback is defined for each question
  • The test is set up in such a way that 10 questions are randomly selected from the question pool when students take the test; the students are therefore shown different questions, which makes it more difficult for them to collaborate and requires them to work more independently
  • Students can take the test autonomously and repeatedly
  • By clicking on the "Check" button, students can see the defined feedback
  • After completion, students also see the best possible solution to each question
  • The lecturer(s) can see who has taken the test and with what result

Try it yourself

The option "Instant Feedback" is activated in the test settings
For each question in the question pool, instant feedback is added to correct and incorrect answers
