The Academic Careers Office in the Vice-Rectorate International and Academic Careers supports young academics to ensure they produce outstanding work during their academic career.
What we can do for you
The Academic Careers Office addresses with its services and offers early career researchers of every qualification level (on the level of the doctorate, post-doctorate, lectureship and assistant professorship) and to all the research areas, to all the faculties and all the units which deal with questions regarding the promotion of early career researchers.
The Academic Careers Office and the Human Resources Office offer a variety of courses designed to support postdoctoral researchers in their academic careers. This fall semester, we are offering courses on leadership and the application process.
Ready to Lead? (28.11.2025 & 19.01.2026)
Taking your first steps as a leader in academia? Our two-day Leadership Course for Postdocs and early-career researchers provides you with the key concepts, tools, and practices of modern leadership and management – tailored to the academic context. You’ll also benefit from peer-to-peer exchange and hands-on case study discussions.
When: Day 1: Friday, November 28, 2025; Day 2: Monday, January 19, 2026; both days 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. (including lunch, childcare available upon request)

The Communication & Marketing Office (CMO) acts as a coordinator, advisor and guardian of values and guidelines in terms of the overall reputation of the University of Bern. Our main tasks are to advise and connect university members, produce content about the university, manage its overarching communication channels, and provide basics such as templates or technical tools.
What we can do for you
Please get in touch if you have any questions or concerns about
- working with media representatives (queries, media releases and conferences)
- communicating your research or events on UniBE channels
- design templates and consultation for brochures, flyers, posters etc.
