The Academic Careers Office in the Vice-Rectorate International and Academic Careers supports young academics to ensure they produce outstanding work during their academic career.
The Communication & Marketing Office (CMO) is responsible for positioning the university and maintaining the brand of the University of Bern. It has the role of coordinator, advisor and guardian of the values and guidelines in terms of the overall reputation of the University of Bern. It establishes and maintains fundamentals, mediates and advises, and provides information about the University.
If you have any questions or concerns related to communication and marketing, there is a dedicated person within our team to advise you, depending on your faculty / research area. Find your direct contact person here.
The Counselling Centre Universities of Bern provides information and counselling services to current students and employees of the Bernese institutions of higher education: University of Bern, Bern University of Applied Sciences and Bern University of Teacher Education.
DSL provides university-wide support and training for researchers and research groups in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence and research IT related matters.
The University of Bern is a member of ENLIGHT, a European University Alliance of ten research-intensive comprehensive universities. Together we develop flexible forms of international exchanges in teaching and research. We aim at creating an interconnected campus for students, lecturers, researchers and employees of all ENLIGHT universities.

The Grants Office provides researchers at all levels with information, personal guidance, and administrative support on acquiring and managing national and international research funds from public funding agencies.
We ensure perfect HR and salary administration for all employees. We deal with matters of labor law and organize the work permits and registration procedure for non-Swiss employees.
The Innovation Office is the central point of contact at the University of Bern and Inselspital, University Hospital Bern, for concerns and questions regarding innovation and entrepreneurship.
The Intermediate Staff Association of the University of Bern (MVUB) represents the interests of assistants and lecturers and provides support and advice, supervises specific support programs for the intermediate staff and offers a range of career-promoting services.
